Arsenal launched £5m bid for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh

Arsenal have officially launched a £5m bid for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh. Chamakh has only one year left on his contract and Wenger believes he can land the talented striker on the cheap. It is believed that Bordeaux would want in the region of £12m, however with Chamakh's contract running out and his insistent of leaving. Bordeaux might have no choice but to let him go.
