" Le Cinema" 這張唱片主要是由幾部電影中所選出的配樂，選取的角度可看得出克萊曼的偏好，不過當然也必須考慮到適合由小提琴演出。第一首選的是卓別林 (Charlie Chaplin) 的電影「摩登時代」(Modern Times) 中的主題曲「微笑」 (Smile)。對克萊曼而言，卓別林就等於音樂，尤其是他表現喜劇的方式，就跟音樂被創造的方式非常相像。幽默與音樂有許多共同的地方，它們都是為了激起人們的情感。這首「微笑」是卓別林自譜的作品，由克萊曼演奏起來淡淡輕緩，就像獨自翱翔在無雲的空中一般。
